This portrait arrived at the workshop in very poor conservation conditions and with serious paint layer consolidation problems. It also had some overpaints on the face area that were completely altered in color. UV light helped us determine the extent of overpaints. After consolidating the liftings of the paint layer, cleaning the aged varnish and removing the overpaints, we managed to stabilize the work and recover this splendid portrait.
