Imposition of the chasuble to San Ildefonso with a donor
Oil on canvas
129 x 113,5 cm.

Spanish Baroque painter who served as court painter to Philip III after the death of Juan Pantoja de la Cruz. He portrayed the royal family but only the portrait of Infanta Margarita is preserved, now in the Museo del Prado. Very few of his works are preserved today. A good example of his art is this imposition of the chasuble that arrived displaying numerous losses of paint layer and a significant aging of the varnish increased by the accumulation of surface dirt
After the restoration the brilliant and bright colors of this work of Spanish Baroque have been fully recovered.

The artwork has been acquired by the El Prado Museum.
